Valor & Victory Brings Tabletop to the Desktop

Matthew Ralphson presents a mixed review for Yobowargames’ computer version of this World War II era tactical combat game on the Game Watcher web site. Originally a free print and play game designed by Brian W. Doyle (rated 6.8 on Boardgamegeek.com in 2021), the game was recently converted to a computer game now available at: Matrix Games; Slitherine; and Steam. Ralphson covers the game turn sequence and game play, frequently mentioning how the game provides a virtual copy of the board game version experience. As such, his main criticisms are that the game plays more like a board game and does not have the advantages of other computer games that de-emphasize the tables and modifiers used by the game to complete an action. He favors games that are more immersive like Panzer Corps 2. That said, his final rating is 7.0 out of 10 (Good)!

Valor & Victory - Setting Normandy on fire once again (strategy)

Giannis aka “Game Olympus” posts this play through video and short game review for the computer version of this tactical level war game. The video starts with a short tutorial preview followed by Giannis playing the Alamo at Sainte Mere Eglise scenario as the Allies starting at 5:21 (suffering a major defeat to the AI). He wraps up with a partial game in the Mochs Battalion Advances on Neuville scenario at 15:48. The unrated review is positive calling the game a very good tabletop classic game and he especially likes the “extremely intuitive built-in scenario editor”.
